Time to learn about Social Media Marketing: Chapter 13

In Chapter 13 in "Essentials of Social Media Marketing," I learned more about social media marketing campaigns. I know in some of my classes previously we talked about social media marketing campaigns but I was very interested in how they went into more detail about it in the book. Some tips that I learned on starting a campaign is before you start your campaign you want to establish goals that way you know what you want to accomplish with the campaign. Next, is choosing a campaign idea, theme and type so you know what audience you are targeting and persuading others to take action. In addition, you want to identify your target audience and determine your campaign budget and resources. Then, you want to outline the parameters of your campaign and the right incentives to encourage participation in your campaign. Also, determining where the campaign will live, select the social networks, choosing the timeline, developing the campaign assets and content calendar, and setting up listening streams. These tips are what to do before running a campaign and that is a lot to do! During, the campaign you want to promote it then monitor and engage your audience then adjust your campaign strategy if things need to improve. After you are done with your campaign you want to announce the winner or share the results this is a great way to show authenticity and create more excitement for the participants. Furthermore, you want to follow up with all participants telling them thank you and giving them a special offer. Lastly, you want to report and analyze your campaign by gathering all your metrics from the campaign and reporting on the success or failure. Overall, I think I learned a few more things about how to start a social media marketing campaign from the beginning, during, then the completion of the campaign.
