A Fun Weekend Back Home!

Image
You're probably thinking from the title why did Ammryn go back home even though we just had Thanksgiving break? Good question. Well, I went back home to visit some family friends that I am housesitting for. I originally thought that I was going to have to make a day trip of going they're then coming back to Ohio Northern but thankfully that wasn't the case. Friday night a bunch of my events were cancelled so I was able to leave a little earlier than expected which helped a lot.       On Saturday, I was able to enjoy it by going to a shop in Logan, Ohio called Gifts That Gives Back vendor market with my aunt and my mother. We had so much fun looking around and buying stuff! Plus, half of the profits that were made at the event were going to those who were in need. I loved everything thing about it! They had so much Christmas stuff I bought a peppermint hot cocoa bomb, homemade soap, and my mom bought some pretty ornaments.       Later that night, I went to go see the pe

Thanksgiving Break Fun!!

Image
I have to say this past week felt like it went by too fast! I was on Thanksgiving break, and I had so much fun! Each day felt like there was something new to enjoy whether it was hanging out with some college friends, spending time with my family or just relaxing by myself it was the best break I had in a long time.      Things didn't really kick off for me until Sunday when I pretty much relaxed the whole day until later in the evening, I went to visit my grandma in the hospital and we talked about what I was doing in college and what my plans were for Thanksgiving break.      On Monday, I just relaxed some more and started to make plans to visit Megan and Chelsea Baker whom I call the Baker Twins in Troy, Ohio on Tuesday. In addition, I have an internship this winter with my local school district back at home called Project Safe. I will be doing Public Relations work with them pretty much revamping and making their Project Safe along with the other schools in the district ha

Playing Hot Potato with Friends!

This past weekend it was very unexcepted with hanging out with friends! Each day was filled with different plans and catching up on what had happened since mid-terms. To give you a breakdown of what I did each day, starting with Friday my friend Mara and I planned on hanging out, grabbing a bite to eat at Tavern 101 then watching a movie and doing some homework the rest of the night plus having a sleepover! At Tavern 101, I got the BA Nachos while Mara got some spinach dip and a sandwich that should have been a wrap, but she said she didn't want to be a "Karen" which I laughed at. After we were done at Tavern 101, we went back to her house and watched Can You Keep a Secret? which was a very interesting movie. The main actors were Alexandra Daddario and Tyler Hoechlin. They did an amazing job in this movie, and I even fell more in love with Tyler Hoechlin then I discovered he was in more shows, so started to watch Teen Wolf because he was in it. Plus, he is in another

First Time at PRSSA ICON!

Image
This past weekend I traveled to Nashville, Tennessee for the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) international conference (ICON) for the first time! It was a unique experience for me since it was my first time going as well as seeing one of my professors Alisa Agozzino who goes by Aggie receive the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Outstanding Educator Award. At the conference, I heard from various speakers two interesting topics that I enjoyed Artificial Intelligence (AI) and The Race Card Project. From the AI session on learned about the innovations of AI plus how Public Relations professionals can utilize AI for brainstorming. The other session which was after Aggie received her award was The Race Card Project campaign. I learned so much about this campaign! The person who ran this her name is Michele Norris, she started this campaign by asking people around the world to share their experiences about their identity in just six words as a starting point for

Productive Fall Break

Image
My fall break was very productive and not as relaxing as I wanted it to be but sometimes having a break means putting some work in. However, I did have fun in some different ways over fall break starting with Friday and ending with Tuesday.     On  Friday, I went to my cousin's wedding. Her ceremony was in the woods with fairy lights and the reception was beautiful! They had hibachi for dinner, where they would make the food before you. The dance floor was beautiful as well it overlooked the pond where you could stand in a gazebo to look out at the pond. I had an amazing time at the wedding and even learned that my brother's Senior Night was on Tuesday.     On  Saturday, I worked a lot on my case study for my Public Relations Case Study class. I am writing about the controversy over Shein's business practices. When I was writing my case study it was interesting to learn about the business operations of Shein and a documentary of Shein's business operations came out

Living in a Tourist Spot

Image
If you are not familiar with Hocking Hills it is a national state park located in Logan, Ohio. I live here and I get a lot of questions about do I go hiking a lot, what is it like living in a tourist spot, and wow you are lucky to live there! Thinking about all these comments I reflected on what it was like living in Hocking Hills when I was younger to now. I realized that so much has changed from when I was a little girl to being a woman now. Back in the day, we didn't have as many boutique shops and little restaurants to eat at along with so many coffee places. Ever since 2020, Hocking Hills has been thriving all year around. It makes me very happy about the place that I live in along with seeing it grow throughout the years.  I do have some favorite spots and things to do in Hocking Hills: 1. Going to the Coffee Emporium and getting the Whispering White Mocha Iced with almond milk. It is one of my favorite coffee choices that I have ever had in my life which I don't kno

Movie Review: Haunted Mansion

Image
Have you heard about the movie called Haunted Mansion? Of course, I mean the new film! I told my mom that I think the newer movie of The Haunted Mansion is better than the old one. I have probably rewatched the movie about five times already. To give you a short recap on what the movie is about a single mom named Gabbie with a son named Trevor. She buys a new house and soon finds out it is inhabited by a bunch of ghosts, so she hires a tour guide, a priest, a psychic, and a historian to exorcise her house. The movie is a great mixture of spooky, funny, and family-friendly. I loved the storyline of the movie starting off the movie with the tour guide named Ben. He loses his wife due to her getting in a car accident throughout the whole movie and talks about wanting to see her again so tries everything in the movie so he can apologize for not being there for her.   Each person in the movie is dealing with some difficulty but you can tell that each person in the movie cares about each oth
